Streams of tourists have a habit of walking straight from one point to the other and making tumbling laughs. That’s the way it is in Bogotá. From the airport, a steady stream of tourists in large and small drops flows towards the center, fills up with the low-budget back packers from the bus station and finally pours into the Candelaria.
There in the old town one hostel stands next to the other and the bars are tailored to foreign guests. Tourism has fueled gentrification and is now suffering its own consequences. There is a lack of authenticity and the desired local experience . After two, three days you have seen all the important places and participated in tours and so the current draws this time in the opposite direction to the plane and night bus.
